Girl injured – scooter drama: ‘We are all done with it’

Date:

After the serious accident with a scooter, eight-year-old Viktoria is in intensive care at the Linz children’s hospital. In Weyer, many are now concerned about the Ukrainian refugee girl.

“Of course we hope the best for the girl. With us, everyone is ready to go,” says Gerhard Klaffner, SPÖ mayor of Weyer. “We from the community recently took a first aid course at the Red Cross. An employee heard a bang in the office and immediately thought that there was something terrible had happened. She ran away with two colleagues, who gave the child first aid and alerted the rescue team.”

An accident happened on the way home
As reported, eight-year-old Viktoria was picked up on Tuesday around 2 p.m. by her big brother (15) from the afternoon shelter in VS Weyer. A friend should take her to the dentist. But on the steep connecting path to the city center, Viktoria went too fast with her micro scooter.

Child is in intensive care
She hit an aluminum post on the railing and fell. The child suffered such serious injuries that it was first taken to KH Waidhofen and then flown to the children’s clinic Linz. Viktoria’s condition was described as “stable” on Wednesday, but she was still in intensive care.

Director Elisabeth Katzensteiner: “She is such a good, calm dirndl, not wild at all, but very down to earth. Our students are very broken.”
