An unknown driver just drove away in Innsbruck on Thursday afternoon after an accident with a cyclist. The 39-year-old motorcyclist suffered a serious hand injury in the accident. Police are now looking for witnesses.
At around 4:15 p.m., the 39-year-old was riding his bicycle west on Leopold-Wedl-Weg in Innsbruck when a white car suddenly and unexpectedly pulled out of an underground car park onto the street. “The cyclist had to swerve to the right to avoid a collision with the car, but fell and sustained a serious hand injury,” police said.
Police are also hoping for witnesses
The driver of the car, in whose passenger seat a woman was sitting, fled without caring for the injured cyclist, according to investigators. Witnesses to the accident are requested to contact VI Innsbruck (tel. 059133/7591-100).
