This is probably not how the inhabitants of Klagenfurt imagined the start of the season at the lido: ten degrees outside and water temperature. But for a bathing mermaid that was no reason not to jump in the lake.
On a Saturday morning there is still little going on at the lido of Klagenfurt – no wonder, as the temperatures are just below double digits and the sky is grey. The lake itself is also just below ten degrees. But a lone Wörthersee fan dared to jump into the really cool water.
“It’s Just Beautiful”
Britta Schöffmann is 78 and has loved the lake since she was young. “It’s just beautiful. The lake may be cool, but it’s still wonderful,” says the bather enthusiastically. Otherwise there are just people in the lido getting their cabins and huts back into shape for good weather and the season.
