On Wednesday there is again an increased risk of severe weather in parts of Austria. In addition to rain and thunderstorms, isolated heavy hailstorms can also occur. Vorarlberg and Tyrol in particular have to deal with showers and thunderstorms from the late morning hours.
There is also a threat of heavy rainfall in the southeast during the day, which can cause flooding. The Skywarn Austria weather agency warns of gusts of wind and even hailstones that can grow up to 5 centimeters in size. But also further east in Salzburg and Carinthia the first cumulus clouds form from noon, which quickly develop into thunderstorms.
It will remain dry in the east
In the north and east often the sun shines in the beginning. By midday, however, isolated rain showers will also spread further east and southeast. In the far east and northeast it will most likely remain sunny and mostly dry for the longest time.
Temperatures up to 26 degrees
Towards the evening, the storm front leaves Austria again towards the southeast. Still, isolated showers can come from the northwest towards Upper and Lower Austria and Vienna. However, the storm does not stop here. At the same time, it remains muggy across the country, with temperatures reaching 26 degrees.
