He was almost home when he cycled home from a festival in Upper Austria. In Feldkirchen an der Donau, a farmer (43) crashed his mountain bike so badly that he died on the spot.
The 43-year-old was on his mountain bike in Goldwörth on the Goldwörther Landesstraße towards the village of Au around four o’clock in the morning on Sunday. There were no witnesses, so no one saw him turn right off the road on his bicycle and hit his head against a stone wall.
Wasn’t wearing a helmet
The farmer was not wearing a helmet and suffered fatal injuries in the impact. About three hours later, at around 7 a.m., a passing motorist spotted the lifeless body. The alarmed rescue and the doctor could only determine death.
Police investigated the scene of the accident for traces and found nothing to indicate a possible collision with a car or other vehicle. It is assumed that the 43-year-old fell without the influence of another road user.
