The work calendar for 2023 in the Basque Country includes the 12 traditional holidays. Every historic area adds a holiday, just like every municipality, which has its local festival.

The Basque government approved this Tuesday the 2023 work calendar for Euskadi, in which they 12 common holidaysto which two will be added to establish municipal and provincial councils.
The difference compared to 2022 It is already next year there will be no holiday on September 6thproclaimed to commemorate the fifth centenary of the first circumnavigation of the world led by the sailor from Getaria, Juan Sebastián Elkano.
The twelve public holidays that will be included in the work calendar in 2023 in the Basque Country are these:
January 6: Kings
April 6: Maundy Thursday
April 7: Good Friday
April 10: Easter Monday
May 1: Labor Day
July 25: Saint James the Apostle
August 15: The Assumption
October 12: Columbus Day
November 1: All Saints’ Day
December 6: The Constitution
December 8: The Immaculate Conception
December 25, Christmas
To these days will be added two more festive days corresponding to the determination of municipal councils and delegations.
