In Australia’s tropical north, authorities search for a missing fisherman – in the belly of two crocodiles. The 65-year-old suddenly disappeared four days ago while fishing on the Kennedy River in a Queensland national park.
The river is notorious for its large crocodile population. Despite a thorough search in the dangerous waters, there is still no trace of the man, broadcaster 9News reports Tuesday.
Arranged an autopsy of the animals
During the night, Rangers from the Department of the Environment discovered two specimens of the reptile, measuring four and nearly three meters long, near where the man was last seen. The crocodiles were euthanized to determine by autopsy whether they ate the passionate hobby fisherman.
“involved in the incident”
They were likely “involved in the incident,” police said. “It’s a national park and there are wild animals, wild crocodiles,” said police spokesman Jason Chetham.
