Before Ukraine offensive – attack on supply route, border village under attack

Date:

The Ukrainian army says attacks and sabotage on supply routes in Crimea and in the Russian border area are in preparation for the imminent counter-offensive. A freight train derailed in the Western Russian region of Bryansk on Monday. Also on Tuesday there were Russian reports of Ukrainian attacks in the region.

According to media reports, the train was loaded with oil and wood products. About a tenth of the 60 wagons were lying on their side in the ditch. “There are no injuries,” the region’s governor, Alexander Bogomas, said on his Telegram channel on Monday. The incident happened near the town of Unecha, 140 kilometers southwest of Bryansk. Traffic on the line has been temporarily halted, Bogomas wrote.

A fuel depot in the port city of Sevastopol on the Crimean peninsula, annexed by Russia since 2014, caught fire last weekend as a result of a drone attack. “The infiltration of enemy logistics is a preparatory element for the vigorous active actions of our armed forces, which we have been talking about for a long time,” the Ukrainian army’s Southern Command said on Sunday. According to Russian information, no deaths or injuries were reported and civilian objects were not damaged.

Ukraine claims to have destroyed 10 oil tanks in Crimea
However, according to Ukrainian military intelligence, ten oil tanks were destroyed. Specifically, Kiev did not claim responsibility for the attack, but Ukraine’s military intelligence said such explosions would continue.

Ukrainian troops fired on a village in the Bryansk region on Tuesday, according to Governor Bogomas. “In the morning, the armed forces of Ukraine shelled the village of Kurkovichi in the Starodub district,” the governor wrote via Telegram. There were no injuries. A fire broke out in a house. Ukraine has not yet responded to the alleged attacks. Also, the reports could not be confirmed by an independent party.
