At the end of May 2021, a case of serious bodily injury occurred in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. However, so far there is no trace of the suspect. Police have since published mugshots of the man and are asking for more information.
According to the police, the suspect hit his victim in the face with a liquor bottle on a staircase on the Danube Canal near Salztorbrücke. The attacker fled moments later. The victim sustained serious eye injuries and has been suffering from the consequences ever since.

A fight would have broken out between the two after the suspect behaved inappropriately towards women present and the victim pointed this out to him. Witnesses who have noticed the suspect before, during or after the crime are asked to contact the police.
