Residential buildings in Vorarlberg were evacuated again on Tuesday. Once again, a violent earth movement was the cause. This time boulders fell from the slope in Ausserbraz.
At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, a stone fell in Ausserbraz. Chunks up to a cubic meter rolled towards the valley and residential area. In order to bring people and animals to safety, two homes and a stable were evacuated in the evening.
As a result of the falling stones, an access bridge was slightly damaged. Fortunately no one was injured. No material damage has been reported so far.
The slope is now being closely monitored, including by the state geologist, who has been very busy in Vorarlberg lately. As reported, there was also a mudslide in Hörbranz just a few days ago.
