A dozen vehicles collided with each other on busy Interstate 30 (I-30) in the American state of Arkansas on Wednesday afternoon. According to official information, three people were killed in the collision with eight articulated trucks and at least three other vehicles.
Some of the articulated trucks caught fire after the crash (see video above), fire and dense clouds of black smoke made it difficult for rescuers to work on the I-30 freeway in southwest Arkansas. Some heavy vehicles had lost some of their cargo.
Traffic on Interstate 30 came to a halt for several hours into the evening hours. It is unclear what caused the massive collision, police said.
