Home sales fell by 34.9% Navarre and 22.4% in the Basque Autonomous Community. Both declines beat the state average, which fell 11.7% yoy in March, a month in which mortgage loans for home purchases fell 26.4% and prices fell 2.6% in a context characterized by curbing the rise in interest rates towards inflation and the rise in borrowing costs.

Specifically there were in March 2598 sales housing in Hego Euskal Herria, according to the data released this Thursday by the General Council of Notaries; in the same period of 2022, there were 2,830 transactions.

As for mortgage loans, in March, of total sales in our territory up 88.6% had a mortgage; The number of contracts signed in the Basque Country stands out (94.2% of the total) compared to 69.8% of mortgages taken out in the foral area.
