The value of the square meter in Hego Euskal Herria has recovered after years of decline and since 2015 is close to pre-crisis levels.

The Basque Country is the third most expensive country in the state, behind only the Balearic Islands and Madrid, with an average price of 2,513 euros per square meter. Navarra, on the other hand, is close to the state average, at 1,440 euros per square meter, and ranks seventh.
The price of land has followed an upward trend in Hego Euskal Herria in recent years, after reaching its lowest level in 2015.
In terms of mortgages signed in March, the Basque Country and Navarra occupy the third and fifth position with the highest contracts in the state, with average mortgages of 258,327 and 187,028 euros respectively, well above the state average of 160,000 euros.
With regard to the latter, the value of mortgages taken out in the Basque Country has almost recovered to the level of the contracts signed in 2007, while in Navarre the amounts of recent years are still much lower than in the period before the economic crisis.
