A cruel case of animal cruelty in the city of Salzburg: On Friday afternoon, the lifeguard of the outdoor swimming pool Leopoldskron, or “Lepi” for short, found a tortured and mutilated goose. Animal ambulance rushed to the rescue.
“We found the goose in the toilet,” Oswin Maier tells the “Krone”. Although he and his colleagues immediately took the badly injured animal to the vet center in Anif, the vet had to put the goose to sleep. The vet could rule out that the injuries came from another animal.
According to Animal Protection, the bird was at home in the pond in Leopoldskron and was only taken to the toilet of the outdoor pool after the cruel act. Police are investigating animal cruelty.
