A gang of young people (one 15-year-old and two 17-year-olds) threatened two other young people with a knife on the Urfahranermarkt on Thursday evening and demanded money. Now the teens ended up in jail. When questioned, they stated that the action was just a joke.
A 17-year-old from Unterweitersdorf and two Hungarian citizens (15 and 17 years old) from Linz were out and about at the Urfahranermarkt in Linz last Thursday evening. And they could be on drugs, as a positive rapid test later showed. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of the carnival, the trio threatened two teenagers (16 and 17) with a knife and demanded money. The threatened teenagers responded correctly: they called the police. The young perpetrators fled.
Thanks to a large-scale manhunt, the police were able to quickly catch and arrest the youth gang.
The knife would be made of wood
The three suspects are now in prison in Linz. They were interviewed in the presence of their legal guardians. The two Hungarians from Linz denied the robbery and stated that the action was just for fun. According to their statements, the knife was a wooden one, which they then threw into the Danube. The 17-year-old from Unterweitersdorf refused to testify.
Three stolen ID cards
Because of the positive rapid test, the gang is also reported under the Narcotics Act. And the agents found three identity cards with the 17-year-old from the Freistadt district that can be assigned to a theft. The investigation is ongoing.
