Alarm after 6 pm – Serious criminals escape from prison unnoticed

Date:

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, two serious criminals escaped from a prison on Sunday evening – and completely undetected. One of the men was behind bars for four murders. Now the search for them has begun.

After viewing surveillance footage, it turned out that 24-year-old Nasir Grant and 18-year-old Ameen Hurst cut a hole in the fence at 8:30 PM on Sunday evening and fled. It wasn’t until Monday afternoon, a full 18 hours later, that the guards noticed the two missing.

Why the escape of the criminals could go undiscovered for so long is now the subject of investigation. “I’m really angry about it. There’s no reason for that,” Mayor Jim Kenney said of the correctional facility’s gross misstep.

Very dangerous criminal
Meanwhile, authorities asked the public for help in locating the escapees. Hurst is suspected of committing four murders and is considered very dangerous. Grant is charged with drug use.
