Two days after the fierce fire in Nauders in Landeck, Tyrol, in which 27 animals died in agony, the search for the cause of the fire is still unsuccessful. Investigators, however, were able to rule out a technical defect.
Terrible photos were taken for a family in Nauders on Sunday evening. A fire broke out in a barn, the flames trapped 27 animals in the barn. All help came too late for them. The fire also spread to the house. The family must be temporarily housed in an emergency shelter.
With the quick action of more than 130 firefighters, worse could be prevented. Due to the heat development, windows, facades and balconies of neighboring homes were also damaged.
Cause of fire still unclear
So far, investigators are still in the dark about what might have started the fire. The investigations found that “according to current knowledge, it can be assumed that the cause of the fire is neither technical nor intentional,” it says.
Two firefighters were also injured in the fire. They had inhaled smoke. Fortunately, other people were unharmed.
