The Federal Administrative Court (BVwG) again warns against falsified decisions and letters in which fraudsters demand the transfer of fictitious “administrative fines”. When in doubt, it is better to ask again.
The forged documents use the logo, company number, signature formula and electronic signature of a resolution or a letter from the BVwG presidency and ask those affected to transfer the “fines” to an itemized account.
The content of these letters has no real connection with decisions of the BVwG and has no legal consequences, the court said in a broadcast. “The requirements contained therein for the payment of administrative fines may not be complied with under any circumstances.”

Anyone who has any doubts after receiving such a letter can contact the court directly at kommunikation@bvwg.gv.at. This forwards the falsified documents to the responsible law enforcement agencies for investigation.
