A bounty of $1 million – The Mexican cartel was shopping in Vienna

Date:

Criminal gathering days before the recent Christmas celebrations in Vienna: Anastasio Soto V. alias “Tachin”, a member of the Mexican Sinaloa cartel, had been sent to Vienna by its leaders…

In the luggage: a very explosive shopping list. The person wanted worldwide by the US anti-drug agency DEA, to whom a bounty of more than one million dollars had been paid, would bring the necessary weapons supplies here.

For which “Tachin” met several times around December 14 and 15 with “colleagues” from the drug scene, who can also easily organize weapons and explosives of any kind. And this mainly through contacts in the Balkan countries.

500 AR-15 semi-automatic rifles and Kalashnikovs, 100 pistols, 20 rocket launchers, grenades and 500 body armor – according to the order list of the Mexican cartel bosses.

It was paid for with laundered drug money and the deadly opioid fentanyl. Secret services and the DEA got wind of it and intercepted most of the goods. While for Anastasio Soto V. the handcuffs clicked in Athens on March 18, three months after his visit to Vienna.

The alleged criminal is now awaiting extradition to the United States.
