Forgotten Truck Heroes – The life of a truck driver has become harsh and unfair

Date:

Long-distance drivers were once considered the kings of the road, but little of that remains. Nowadays people talk about “forgotten heroes” and “wage slaves”. No wonder the industry is complaining about an acute shortage of personnel. A glimpse into life on three square meters:

Markus Müller knows life on the road very well – he has been a professional driver for 33 years. For 25 years he drove his truck in international and national long-distance traffic – from Italy to Sweden. He saw countries and people and experienced first hand how hard life can be “on the box”. Behind him are thousands of kilometers driven, a divorce after 25 years of marriage, two hernias and countless restless nights because he rarely saw his two children.
