Unusual accident in Tollet (Upper Austria). A driver skidded, then applied the handbrake and ended up in a creek. His mother was seriously injured.
The 53-year-old from the Grieskirchen district drove on Thursday around 1.35 pm with his 75-year-old mother in his car on the L525 in the direction of Grieskirchen. For unknown reasons, the car skidded at the entrance to Tollet. The man reflexively applied the handbrake, causing the car to turn 180 degrees.

Eventually, the car backed off the roadway and landed sideways in a stream. While the 53-year-old was able to get out of the car on his own, his mother had to be rescued by the fire brigade. She was injured to an undetermined degree and after first aid was flown to the Wels Clinic with the rescue helicopter “Christophorus 10”. Her son was slightly injured and was taken to the clinic in Grieskirchen.
