After a brutal coup in the Tyrolean lowlands, the police have now arrested two young suspects. Two 14-year-old boys allegedly robbed a sleeping homeless person in the station building a week ago and bought cigarettes with the loot.
The act took place on May 3 at around 11:30 pm. The homeless person lay down on a bench in the Wörgler train station to sleep in the warmth. The two young Austrians should have unabashedly exploited this: they would have crept up to the sleeping man and tampered with his wallet. “They took the wallet first and then took out a double-digit amount of cash and a debit card. Then they put the wallet back,” an officer of the Wörgl police inspectorate said when asked by “Krone”.
The 14-year-olds used the stolen debit card to buy cigarettes from a vending machine and then fled. According to the detectives, the homeless man suffered damage of about 90 euros as a result of the robbery.
Young suspects already known to the police
The police began to investigate the matter and succeeded just over a week later: a security camera at the train station had filmed the two youths doing what they were doing, which finally allowed them to be investigated on Friday morning. The suspects are young people already known to the authorities. They have not yet faced the charges. The two local residents are now reported to the public prosecutor’s office.
