The story of the “Monster von Amstetten” is now going around the world again.
The book appeared in German-speaking countries at the end of March: “The Abysses of Josef F.” Content: Excerpts from notes that the “incest father from Amstetten” made in recent years in the prison of the Krems-Stein prison – and interviews with him the Viennese lawyer Astrid Wagner, behind bars.
Shocking: Even 15 years after his imprisonment, the now 88-year-old seems oblivious to the horror of his crime. Time and time again, in conversations with the defender, he emphasized: “Frankly, I am a good person…”
“The Chasms of Josef F.” – has long been a bestseller. Which is not surprising. After all, the criminal case from Lower Austria once made headlines all over the world.
“Numerous journalists from abroad have contacted me in recent weeks to find out new things about my client,” says Wagner. So she finally decided to have the book about him translated into English; by Monika Schulz, a sworn interpreter from Vienna. The Abysses of Josef F is now available almost worldwide through Amazon.
The book is already setting sales records, especially in England. The newspapers there quote it extensively.
What does the perpetrator – according to court psychiatrist Heidi Kastner suffer from a severe narcissistic personality disorder – say about this? “I’m glad so many people are interested in why I did bad things…”
