The staff of CIE Automotive Goiain, a company belonging to the Basque multinational CIE Automotive, will start an indefinite strike on May 15 to improve their working conditions.
The staff, consisting of about 30 employees and with ELA representation, is negotiating a first collective agreement. Among the main demands of the staff are salary increases above the CPI, a reduction of the annual working day to less than 1,700 hours and a revision of the salary tables.
The ELA union recalled that CIE Automotive “recorded a net income of 90 million in the first quarter of this year, which represents an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, and achieved a gross operating income of 179.3 million, representing a growth of 13.8% compared to the first quarter of last year”.
