Serious occupational accident in Schörfling. A 49-year-old fell six meters after removing the fall protection on a balcony.
On Sunday around 4 p.m., a 49-year-old from the Wels-Land district of Schörfling was carrying out work on the 2nd floor of the building’s shell. The water hose that was pulled over the outside of the building may have caught on the balcony.

To release the hose, he removed the attached fall arrester and made his way to the edge of the balcony. Apparently he lost his balance and fell about twenty feet. A colleague from work who was on the 3rd floor at the time rushed to his aid and alerted the emergency services. The man was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
