The Commissioner for Infrastructure and Territorial Development points out that this infrastructure allows on the one hand to connect municipalities and on the other hand to move in a different way.
Regional Commissioner for Infrastructure and Territorial Development, Imanol Pradales, has emphasized that the new boulevard that will connect Bilbao, Erandio, Leioa and Getxo is a clear commitment to sustainable mobility. Likewise, she believes that it will allow “connect municipalities and move in a different way” around the metropolis.
As he noted, the goal would be to reduce the thousands of daily car trips in this area of Bizkaia. “In the metropolitan region, people drive a lot by car and we want to change that,” explains the deputy of Bizkaia. For example, he pointed out that with this new infrastructure “we calculate that a third of those trips by car would change the way you move”.
