Navarrese farmers and ranchers will receive 7.3 million direct aid for the drought in application of the royal decree approved by the Spanish government last Thursday.
6 million goes to livestock and specifically: 2.5 million to sheep and goat meat; 2.25 million, on suckler cow; 597,000 euros for sheep and dairy goats and 581,000 euros for beef. In addition, 1.3 million will be spent on completing support for the costs of agri-insurance up to the maximum allowed by the European Union, which is 70%, i.e. the farmer is responsible for 30% and not for 40% up to now. .
Depending on the intensity of the drought, the Royal Decree distinguishes three state levels of status (high, medium and low) and Navarre as a whole is included in the zone of medium status.
The Minister of Rural Development and the Environment, Itziar Gomezhas indicated that the department he heads is in the process of drawing up a Provincial Order, which will be published shortly, which will relax the requirements for the collection of CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) aid.
