Large-scale operation on Tuesday evening in the inn near Kirchbichl in Tirol! A car was reported floating in the water in front of the power station there. Salvage was difficult. It was not immediately clear if there were people in the vehicle.
Due to the heavy rainfall, Michael Freisinger and his colleague Manfred Kogler wanted to take a closer look at the water level in the Inn when they suddenly saw a car floating in the water. “All four wheels looked up,” said the “Krone” eyewitnesses. The two immediately raised the alarm.
Strong current hampered rescue
Several aid organizations – including the Innsbruck professional fire brigade – left. Due to the high water level and the strong current, salvaging the car was complicated.
