The coalition partners -PSOE and Unidas Podemos- argue that this law, along with other initiatives they have adopted, promote a change of model in Spain at the housing as a right and not just as a market commodity.
The housing law empowers the autonomous communities to designate areas with stressed housing markets and limit rents in them, which has focused the political discussion around it and the rejection of the real estate industry for the past three years.
