Two apparently abandoned suitcases caused a major police operation at Graz Central Station shortly after 1:45 p.m. today. After the luggage was found in the Spar supermarket, it had to be cleared at short notice.
Other parts of the main station were also affected: experts such as the guard service (BE) took precautions within a radius of 50 meters, parts of the station and three platforms (1-3) were closed. Public transport was also partially affected. Explosive detection dogs were also deployed.
The ‘all-clear’ could be given around 3.45 pm. According to the police, the search of the suitcases and the area in question did not yield any indications of a bomb or the like. The owners are still being sought.
