Leave a wallet with more than 10,000 euros on the roof of the car and it was gone: this accident happened to a 29-year-old Tyrolean in the Zillertal in July. A man is said to have found and embezzled the “treasure”. With the publication of mugshots, the detectives now hope to track down the suspect.
July 21, just before 9 a.m., Strass im Zillertal: The 29-year-old resident drove his car to Fügen. Before driving away, the young man had a gray one Bank leather wallet with a five-digit euro amount placed on the car roof and accidentally left there. It went as it should!
Leather bag fell on the sidewalk
The leather bag fell on the L218 after about 50 meters of driving Rotholzer Straße. “This was recorded by a camera at the train station in Strass im Zillertal, which monitors the level crossing,” the police said at the time.
Unfair finder filmed by camera
About three minutes after the disappearance, the video recording shows that a man drives onto the lane of the L218, deliberately approaches the leather bag, picks it up and continues on the footpath towards Strass/Astholz without stopping. Arriving in Astholz you see that the man is marching further uphill in the direction of the hiking trail “Maria Brettfall”.
Investigators are still hoping for clues
There is still no trace of the suspect who allegedly embezzled the money. The Tyrolean management therefore published mugshots on Thursday, which are intended to show the dishonest finder.
