Not even the Graz officers expected that: they really only wanted to arrest a moped driver as part of a routine check on Friday afternoon – but the driver (17) accelerated, drove off and threw his bag over a noise barrier. Inside were: Cannabis and a stiletto knife…
Shortly before 5:15 p.m. on Friday, a police patrol on Triesterstraße in Feldkirchen near Graz routinely wanted to stop a moped driver and subject the driver and vehicle to a check. But the 17-year-old didn’t stop, ignoring all police attempts to stop him and instead speeding up.
He left his vehicle on Friedrich-Ritter-Weg and fled on foot over the tracks of the ÖBB southern railway line. After about 200 meters, however, the breakaway was already over for the 17-year-old. The policemen ran after him, were soon able to catch up and stop him.
The teenager was the first to throw his shoulder bag over the noise barrier. When it was secured, it was easy to understand why: it contained cannabis (a small amount), tobacco products and a stiletto. When checking the moped registered to him, the officials eventually found technical manipulations on the vehicle, after which the license plates were taken from the young man. The 17-year-old is reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Graz (narcotics law) and to the BH Graz-Umwelt for various administrative offences.
