A couple’s trip in the Gaißau municipality of Vorarlberg ended on Saturday with their car totaled and minor injuries. After allegedly dodging a cat, the driver veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The man was later found to be under the influence of alcohol.
At around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday evening, a man was steering his Alfa Romeo on Gaißauer Teilstrasse in the direction of the country road when he said he had to avoid a cat at number 46.
As a result, the man went off the road, hit a fence and crashed into a tree.
As a result of the accident, the driver, whose alcohol test showed a blood alcohol level of 2.06, and his passenger were injured to an undetermined degree and had to be taken to Dornbirn hospital by the rescue team. The vehicle was a total loss.
