It could have ended very differently. In Enns and Linz, detectives arrested a quartet of dealers who had prepared for a small war. At least there was enough ammunition.
The four Hungarians, aged between 20 and 44, were targeted by the Enns Police Inspectorate and the Upper Austrian Criminal Investigation Department. The main perpetrators are said to be a 44-year-old and his 20-year-old son, who often drove to the Netherlands to smuggle drugs to Upper Austria. A 33-year-old accomplice was also often on the train and kept some of the drugs – all artificially produced narcotics – as wages.
The 33-year-old sub-dealer is also strongly suspected of involvement in a stabbing in Kapfenberg in Styria on March 4, 2023, in which he, along with a 35-year-old Austrian accomplice, presented the later victim, a 29-year-old Austrian whose apartment was watching and a knife in the shoulder rammed. The two were arrested by order of the public prosecutor and taken to Linz prison. The 35-year-old Austrian, who was only released a month before the crime, was arrested in Linz with a loaded gun.
Another 44-year-old Hungarian was found who made his apartment in Linz available to the drug importers. The drug was stored in this “bunker apartment”, weighed and portioned for further sale. The 44-year-old, who has also been proven to have sold narcotics in the Linz area, was also arrested.
Found 300 rounds of ammunition and ecstasy
During several house searches, drugs and drug paraphernalia, 17 cell phones, prohibited weapons and more than 300 ammunition for an assault rifle were found and seized. All those arrested, some of whom confessed, were given pre-trial detention. A total of three kilos of amphetamine, 15 kilos of 3-CMC (also known as clophedrone), 100 grams of methamphetamine and 1,000 ecstasy pills were imported into Austria. Numerous buyers from the dealers were investigated and reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Linz.
