A 74-year-old attacked his recently divorced ex-partner with a knife in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Sunday morning, inflicting several cuts on her. Before that, he visited the 58-year-old in her apartment, attacked her with pepper spray and threatened to kill her. There was also a domestic violence operation in Vienna-Donaustadt: a 28-year-old threatened his mother and other relatives there.
Witnesses called the police in Floridsdorf around 5 a.m. Officers from the Trillergasse Inspectorate gave first aid to the woman, who was found injured in the stairwell, before the ambulance service took her to a hospital. The 58-year-old had sustained deep cuts on various parts of his body, but his life was not in danger. The criminal investigation department in Vienna took over the further investigation and the search for the suspect is still “in full swing”, emphasized police spokesman Philipp Hasslinger.
Fear of a drug-disabled son
Late Sunday evening in Vienna-Donaustadt, a 28-year-old threatened his mother and other relatives with death by telephone. When he showed up at her address, the woman called the police and stated that the drug-addicted son was in the apartment and that she and the other people had left for fear of him.
Police officers arrested the man. Several entry and approach bans and a provisional ban on weapons were issued against him.
