Even if the material damage is not too high, the operators of a farm shop in St. Andrä, in Carinthia, were shocked – thieves had stolen vegetables directly from a field. This affects 100 plants, which have fallen victim to the thieves.
The Errath family has been growing field vegetables in St. Andrä for many years, which they then supply to restaurateurs and supermarkets. But the seasonal vegetables are also for sale in the farm shop. But now brutal thieves went to their field and stole about 100 plants. “We are shocked,” the farmers write on their Facebook page. “From now on we are forced to monitor our fields with cameras and also keep an eye on our fields.”
It is less about the value of the plants than about the insolence. “If the perpetrator reads this, next time please come to the farm shop and ask politely if we can sell you a plant for only 0.25 euros,” the robber continued: “SHAME ON YOU!”
