On Wednesday, another truck driver was misled by his GPS, this time on a narrow municipal road in Edelschrott (Styria). Towing service and fire brigade arrived on site to free the driver from his plight.
According to chief fire inspector Harald Sabetz, commander of FF Edelschrott, the trailer got stuck on the municipal road. Because of the rain-soaked meadow, he did not advance or retreat.
With the help of the emergency services, a towing service succeeded in towing the heavy vehicle and towing it in the direction of the provincial road to St. Martin am Wöllmissberg. This difficult undertaking lasted three and a half hours before the firefighters were able to return.
