1500 international delegates have met in Paris since Monday on a global agreement to end the plastic flood!
“The world must now start turning off the plastic tap, immediately and with emergency measures. Because plastic is almost 100 percent made from fossil sources and is therefore extremely harmful to the climate. Negotiators must take the dangerous consequences of pollution for the environment and people seriously and decide on a radical change of course. Small steps or voluntary measures are completely inadequate given the gigantic size,” says Lisa Panhuber, circular economy expert at Greenpeace Austria. She is on the ground as an observer at the negotiations in Paris.
