Monday evening there was a knife attack at the Westbahnhof in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus. Two men suffered multiple stab wounds.
Observant witnesses alerted the emergency services after they noticed a 43-year-old man with a knife in his hand in front of the platform. The alarmed police officers immediately ran to the station and saw the two injured men lying on the floor. The suspect immediately dropped the knife when he saw the officers.

He was arrested shortly afterwards. At the same time, the police started first aid and alerted the rescue services. One of the injured is a 23-year-old, the second person is currently no further information.
Both persons were taken to a hospital. There is no danger to life. The suspect stated on the spot that he had previously been physically assaulted. The investigation is ongoing.
