An 80-year-old cyclist was found dead in Tennengau on Tuesday, according to the Salzburg mountain rescue service. The man from the city of Salzburg may have had a fatal accident with his e-bike the day before.
He went cycling with friends on Monday and rode back alone. The friends stayed in a cabin. They discovered his car on Tuesday afternoon, which was still parked in a parking lot, and alerted the emergency services.
Nine mountain rescuers, police officers and the team of the police helicopter “Libelle Salzburg” searched for the missing person in the Tauglboden area near St. Koloman. The helicopter team discovered the 80-year-old in the so-called “David Trench”. The e-biker may have fallen over a steep embankment in a bend and died. He was rescued by the mountain rescuers from Hallein.
