Euskadi, one of the communities least impacted by inflation in 2022, at 7.3%

Date:

After the inflationary process started with the pandemic and was exacerbated by the economic fallout from the war in Ukraine, inflation reached 7.39% in the BAC.

Last year, the Basque Country was among the autonomous communities with the least impact from price increases, with an inflation rate of 7.39%according to a study by the analysis center Funcas.

The inflationary process that started in 2021 after the pandemic and was exacerbated in 2022 by the economic consequences of the war in Ukraine “has had a greater impact on households with less economic capacity” and households in rural zonesaccording to this study.

In this table, the Basque Autonomous Community ranks as the municipality with the highest incomebefore Navarre and Madrid.

According to this article, this uneven impact is due to the different weight that the spending groups most affected by inflation have in each household: food, energy, fuel, hotels and restaurants; decreasing weight as income rises.

Likewise, the hardest hit regions are Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, La Rioja and Aragón, areas affected by the depopulation.
