Meetings were held in the morning and afternoon shifts to assess Euskotren’s latest offer and the “negotiating spirit” the company showed at Thursday’s meeting.
The workers of the Vitoria-Gasteiz tram decided this Friday to end the strikes they had held in demand for labor improvements, so the planned strikes for next week are cancelled.
Meetings were held in the morning and afternoon services in which, as reported LABORATORYEuskotren’s latest offer and the “negotiating spirit” the company showed at Thursday’s meeting have been assessed.
The workers’ assemblies have decided to call off planned strikes for two hours per shift from Monday to Friday next week and have asked Euskotren to convene the negotiating table as soon as possible to be able to negotiate the remaining differences of opinion and thus “end this conflict in a way that is satisfactory to all parties”.
LAB has again expressed its regret for the inconvenience the strikes have caused to the public so far, but explained that these mobilizations have been “essential in the fight for a quality and safe service”.
LAB, with the support of CCOOcalled these strikes in protest against the high workload of the staff and now the unions will have to negotiate on issues such as work on weekends and in the month of August pending an agreement.
