According to the first results, the ‘Europe now’ movement, founded last year, won the most votes in the parliamentary elections in Montenegro. Milojko Spajic’s party received 28.8 percent of the vote, followed by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) with 23.2 percent.
The pro-Serbian and pro-Russian coalition “For the future of Montenegro” came third with 15.8 percent. The pro-European coalition of Democrats and URA came out at 12.5 percent.
The non-governmental electoral research institute CEMI announced the preliminary results after counting 55 percent of the votes. Turnout was just 56 percent, significantly lower than the last general election in 2020 or the presidential election this spring.
