On Monday morning, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A1 Westautobahn between St. Valentin and the catchment area of The Hague in the direction of St. Pölten. Two trucks collided for unknown reasons. The emergency services are on the scene – it’s building up.
Due to the work at the scene of the accident, the carriageway had to be reduced to one lane. The A1 towards Vienna had to be closed completely to allow the rescue helicopter to land. Traffic congestion and longer waiting times are therefore to be expected. A truck driver was injured in the accident in the morning hours.
The crew of an ambulance from Gmunden, which was near the scene of the accident during a patient transport, took over the victim’s first aid. Work at the accident site is still ongoing.
