After the terrible act in the district of Waidhofen an der Thaya (Lower Austria), in which a boy was locked in a dog box and tortured by his own mother, another suspect (40) is in U-detention. According to the police, it should come from the environment of the mother.
The horror act in Lower Austria continues to cause horror. From the beginning of September to November 2022, the twelve-year-old would have been held without love and above all helplessly in a dog kennel measuring approximately 50 x 80 centimeters. And that of his own mother.
Daily beats
Despite daily beatings and cold showers in sub-zero temperatures, the boy miraculously survived. A concerned social worker raised the alarm. According to the OGH, the 12-year-old died of starvation, but was rescued in time in a life-threatening condition.
The boy is currently in the care of his father. The boy’s health has improved, police said. The police investigation is currently ongoing and is focusing on the family’s immediate surroundings. Further arrests were expected in advance.
Mother in custody
The 12-year-old’s mother is currently in custody. They are being investigated for attempted murder, torture or neglect of a minor, young person or defenseless person and imprisonment. She appealed to the Supreme Court because of her pre-trial detention.
The second arrest was caused by the criminal investigation department of Lower Austria after viewing chats. Complicity is suspected. According to the police, the arrest took place on March 3 on the orders of the Krems prosecutor’s office. The 40-year-old was taken to Krems Prison and is now incarcerated, as is the prime suspect.
The “Kurier” reported on Wednesday that the investigation was carried out because of a sadistic cult. The police kept a low profile when requested and referred to Krems’ public prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor was not immediately available for comment.
