“I just wanted my cap,” says the first suspect (23) as the reason why he attacked his victim with a 17-year-old – who also stabbed. That is why the man had to undergo emergency surgery and both perpetrators went to jail for attempted murder.
It’s a trifle that started the argument between the two suspects and a young man – which ended for the latter with a life-threatening stomach stab.

The reason for the fight, which the 23 and 17-year-old presented in the Vienna Regional Court, could not be more ridiculous: in an earlier fight, the victim took his cap off the older man. Subsequently, a confrontation broke out in the 3rd precinct.
“I thought I scared him – and he returned the cap,” explains the younger man, why he ran at the opponent with a pocket knife. He caught the victim with a stab to the spleen and liver. “There was a little bit of blood and I was in shock,” he continues. And the oldest? “I just wanted my cap back.” The victim had emergency surgery and the two Afghans were tried for attempted murder.
15 and eight years in prison
“My client didn’t stab him,” recalled attorney Michael Jobst — he’s still sentenced to 15 years in prison in line with the indictment. The remorseful stinger, defended by lawyer Thomas Nirk, was eight years old – simply because of a snitch… The verdicts are not final.
