After a tragic accident that killed a 19-year-old pedestrian in Salzburg on Saturday night, there was initially no trace of the driver of the accident. Witnesses spoke of a silver BMW that fled after the accident. A 20-year-old man turned himself in to police on Saturday morning.
Shortly after midnight, the 19-year-old was walking on L101 near the northern entrance to Mattsee village when the 20-year-old motorist hit the pedestrian. But instead of administering first aid and alerting the emergency services, he just took off in his silver BMW.

An observant witness saw the accident happen and immediately alerted the police and emergency services. Another driver began CPR. However, all help came too late for the young woman.
The search for the initially unknown went on full steam all night. On Saturday morning, the 20-year-old turned himself in to a police station along with his lawyer and father.
