Armed with iron bars and knives, three men aged between 21 and 44 allegedly assaulted guests at a bar in Vienna-Favoriten on Saturday.
In the Quellenstraße incident, two people were stabbed and the three suspects were later temporarily arrested by WEGA officials.
Persons with stab wounds
The officials had previously been alerted to a stabbing, but two people with stab wounds and witnesses were found in the bar itself. In a terrace of the restaurant, several people were attacked with iron bars and knives.
Suspects named by police
The suspects were known by name and were quickly investigated. WEGA agents stopped them as they fled. The trio justified themselves by stating that they had been attacked themselves.
They also suffered minor injuries. The men have been arrested. The injured have been taken to a hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
