After a battery explosion in Niederalm (Salzburg) had put 35 people on the street, most residents can return to their own four walls this week. During the search for a temporary solution, many people registered with the community – and offered their help!
Relief after a weekend of uncertainty! An apartment fire banned the tenants of a Multi -party house in the district of Niederalm on the street. The first two nights were found in a room in the local senior house. Landlord Markus Feßler organized replacement accommodations at a Hoste -Gastheer on Sunday. He also received support from the search for a hostel from the municipality of Ann.
Countless residents evacuated
As the “Krone” reported, the battery of an electric bicycle in an apartment had exploded. 38 people stayed in the house at the time. Countless residents were saved by the windows – and suddenly stood over their heads without a roof.
On Monday the first employees moved to the fire brigade house and started removing the strong soot. Most apartments were largely spared because the doors were closed during the fire. An expert also investigated the situation. The good news: most are expected to go home this week. Only the brand apartment must be renovated. And that takes longer.
“We have received many phone calls from people who have offered us their help,” says mayor Gabriella Hermacher-Leitner of Annif. Some were therefore even ready to temporarily accept families with themselves.
The emergency plan of the municipality, which has taken for the first time, is under development. “But he has paid off all his fruit,” says the local chef.
