A reporter from the “Krone” reader got goosebumps in the evening hours of January 6 on the S36 Murtal highway between Judenburg and Unzmarkt: a video recorded by the camera of the attentive driver shows an approaching wrong-way driver.
In the video, starting at second 27, a wrong-way driver can be seen approaching a shocked “Krone” reader reporter. The wrong-way driver has already switched on the hazard lights.
Friends drove after him
“I had goosebumps from head to toe and was glad I wasn’t driving on the fast lane at that moment,” reports the eyewitness of the wrong-way driver incident. The attentive reader-reporter immediately alerted the police and provided all the information he knew. “After calling the police, I called my friends in the cars ahead and asked them to stay in the first lane,” the man continued.
Fortunately, the incident ended without tragic consequences for him, but encountering a wrong-way driver is undoubtedly every driver’s nightmare.
Take into account the requirement for driving on the right
In an interview with the “Krone”, the man was grateful that nothing worse had happened in his case. Still, he hopes that the incident will make people think. “Even if it just means paying closer attention to the requirement to drive on the right on highways and highways, this would already have a positive effect,” he stressed.
The incident on the S36 once again draws attention to the potential dangers in road traffic and calls on people to strictly follow traffic rules to prevent accidents and life-threatening situations.
